with Douglas Miller

As described in Wolfram von Eschenbach’s Parzival and other 13^th-and 14^th-century works, a particular community was formed around the presence of the Grail on the Earth. We will look at the history and difficult destiny of that 9^th-century community at Munsalvaesche and also consider what that destiny meant for its own time and for the present time.

Douglas is a retired professor of German at the University of Michigan–Flint in the United States; his research, publication, and lecturing has focused on Goethe’s accomplishments as a scientist and writer, as well as on the history and meaning of Rudolf Steiner and anthroposophy.
