Chartres Cathedral: a testament to its human builders inspired by deep faith and the immense wisdom of the School of Chartres (Zoom)
Friday 26 June 7pm - 8.30pm
with Peter van Breda
Peter first visited Chartres 54 years ago as a student of Emerson College and has returned many times, feeling blessed and inspired by the majesty of this medieval Cathedral reaching up like a sounding symphony in stone born as it is out of mystery wisdom. Rudolf Steiner tells us that many individuals of that spirit filled time (12th and 13th century) became at the end of 19th century part of the founding membership of the Anthroposophical Movement.
A course given by William (Mucky) Mann, at Emerson College led Peter to recognise that art through the ages can offer a direct indication of the phases of consciousness through which we have evolved. This carried within it the mystery of reincarnation.
