The Fairy Tale and the Portal

We will be examining the relationship of The Portal of Initiation to Goethe’s alchemical fable, The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily.
The first of Steiner’s Mystery Dramas is delightfully rich in content, as is Goethe’s tale. The session will consist mainly of a talk by Trevor Dance, with some reading from the play and the tale. As the readings will not be long, any version of the play is fine – if you do not have a book it is not a problem.
