The Fifth Gospel
Tuesday 3 March 7pm - 8.30pm
with Brendan McQuillan
Tuesdays 7pm -8.30pm
We will be looking at lectures by Rudolf Steiner with the title 'The Fifth Gospel' given in various German cities in Nov and Dec 1913 (from GA148) and at his lecture from May 27th 1914 titled 'Progress in the Knowledge of the Christ: The Fifth Gospel' given in Paris (in GA152).
The lectures, which are informed by Steiner's spiritual research in the Akashic Chronicle, present many remarkable discoveries about the life of Jesus of Nazareth before the Baptism and about Christ Jesus' experiences following the Baptism. Included are dramatic insights into Jesus' doubts over the relevance both of contemporary Pagan Mysteries and the Bath Kol; Jesus' realization of the cosmic, inverse significance of the Lord's Prayer; His relationship to the Essene community and His glimpses of Lucifer and Ahriman fleeing the exclusive Essene Gates of Jerusalem; the intimate, cathartic conversations between Mother Mary and Jesus that led to the Baptism; the three temptations of Christ Jesus; Peter's denials, and much else besides.
All are welcome. No need to book.
