Awakening to Paradise – on Zoom

The three Oberufer plays were collected by Karl Julius Schroer, one of Rudolf Steiner's teachers. They are part of the Medieval Mystery drama tradition and were passed on orally from a community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube. The first is the Paradise Play, which portrays the events in the garden of Eden. If we penetrate its depths we uncover clues to the mystery of temptation and the origin of evil into the world, setting the scene for the unfolding of the Christmas story. This contemplation can take us far into the future, towards the New Jerusalem.
