Coronavirus presents a fast-moving challenge to humanity like no other. Peter Selg will explore what can be learnt from the medical, socio-political, and spiritual aspects of the COVID crisis. Rudolf Steiner did not just comment critically on the outof-hand ‘fear of bacilli’ or the ‘obsession with hygiene’ as ‘modern superstition’, but also warned about the dangerous reality of ‘pathogens of the worst kind’ that could become ‘destroyers of human life’and bring with them ‘dreadful epidemics’.

Dr Peter Selg is director of the Ita Wegman Institute. He was born in Stuttgart and studied medicine in Witten-Herdecke, Zurich, and Berlin. His latest publications include The Mystery of the Earth, Essays in the Time of Coronavirus, Steiner Books 2021.
