Making the Invisible Visible

Friday 16 June 7pm - 8.30pm

with Angela Lord

Nature Spirits: goblins, elves, pixies, nymphs and fairies have inspired many an artist’s imaginative fantasy. In this evening’s presentation we’ll consider the variety of ways in wh ichthe enchantment of these little beings captured and challenged the creative faculties of visual artists and illustrators. On the one hand magical, romantic, fanciful, cute and endearing, and on the other subterranean, surreal and altogether darker.

We’ll also look at how Rudolf Steiner mdepicted the nature spirits: the gnomes, undines, sylphs and salamanders, based on his highly trained clairvoyant observations. He provided authentic and accurate images of these beings, which have, in turn, influenced anthroposophical artists, allowing them to develop new forms and entirely new artistic processes, resonating with the nature spirits and their ways of working.

Angela Lord is a painter and author of over 12 books, which include: Colour Dynamics, Books I and II; Form Drawing; and Rudolf Steiner’s four watercolour paintings.

All welcome, no need to book, no charge.
