Monday 3rd April 7pm (BST) Stars, Planets, Comets and Meteors

With Douglas Davidson

From before recorded history the fixed stars have shone down on us, and we've looked up at them for guidance and inspiration. Our predecessors saw them as spiritual beings, engaged in mighty mythological sages as they looked down on humanity, moving through the sky as the year progresses. Even today, we still rely on their faithful presence for navigation when our technology fails us. But what of those rather unexpected planets, comets and meteors? What do they bring and how do we relate to them?

Having retired from a career in Children's Social Care, as a Reviewing Officer, for troubled families and children in care, Douglas has been able to devote more time to tending a biodynamic allotment in Kings Langley, England, anthroposophical study, The Christian Community and astronomy. He started his working life in the telecommunications industry, subsequently shifting career in his 20's, to Social Care.  This transition happened through following the curative education seminar in Camphill.

Tuesday 4th April 7pm (BST) Equinoxes and Solstices

With Andrew Wolpert

An equinox is an almost imperceptible moment of balance between equals : a solstice is graspable process of balance between complementary opposites.  Our Festivals of the year return around these turning points. Do we slumber or awaken in this cosmic rhythm?

Andrew has been working in adult education in the fields of language, literature, art history, and Christology for many years in Europe and in Asia.

Wednesday 5th April 7pm (BST) The Cathedral at Chartres and the Eternal Feminine

With Eric Klein

We will look at the history of the Cathedral at Chartres and the mystery school that developed under the great Chartres "Masters". The Black Madonna, the Mary mystery and the eternal feminine had a central place in the teachings of this mystery school.

Eric Klein was born and raised in an Anthroposophic home in New York, educated at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City, before training as a concert musician at the Manhattan School of Music. His life’s journey has gone through Harvard Business School, the Christian Community Seminary in Stuttgart, before settling in England in 2002. He has worked as a performing musician, composer, conductor, teacher and lecturer.
