From The Heart of Childhood – Reclaiming Presence for Connection

Saturday 27 September 5pm - 6.30pm

Talk and Book Lauch with Julie Lam

Join us in Rudolf Steiner Bookshop for an inspiring evening with Julie Lam as she shares insights from her new book exploring how childhood development shapes our lifelong capacity for authentic connection.

About the Book:

From The Heart of Childhood takes readers on a profound journey through the three phases of childhood development: Truth in the Body (0-7 years), Beauty in the Soul (7-14 years), and Goodness in the Spirit (14-21 years). Drawing from decades of experience, Julie reveals how understanding these stages can heal the wounds and patterns that hold us back, transforming our relationships with ourselves and others. Blending personal stories, practical reflections, and guided meditations, she offers a pathway back to presence, wonder, and the art of deep listening.

Julie Lam

Julie Lam is a mother of four, grandmother, mentor, and founder of Highgate House School in Hong Kong, where she pioneered a nurturing approach to early childhood education that honours each individual’s unique developmental journey. She is trained in Steiner Waldorf education, Pikler approaches, therapeutic play, and counselling, as well as in Compassionate Inquiry developed by Dr. Gabor Maté. Julie also guides people in finding their authentic voice through listening and speaking circles, creating spaces for deep presence and truth-telling.

With over four decades supporting hundreds of families and individuals, Julie now focuses on creating Listening Sanctuaries—sacred spaces where anyone seeking deeper connection can return to their inner wisdom and live more joy-filled, wholehearted lives. Her passion is to pass on these skills of deep listening and presence so that this healing art continues to grow in the world.

This evening offers an opportunity to rediscover childhood’s essential wisdom and deepen your capacity for presence, wonder, and genuine human connection. Julie will be available to sign books at the event.
