Christmas Plays from Oberufer: Come with us to Paradise!

Sunday 18 December 12pm - 6pm

An afternoon of speech and drama at Temple Lodge Christian Community Directed by Geoff Norris

12 pm The Paradise Play (1st showing)
2.30pm Phoenix. Matej Rybka - Graduation Performance
4.30pm The Paradise Play (2nd showing)

The Paradise Play portrays the spiritual forces working in the stories of creation and ‘the fall’ and prepares us to celebrate Christmas. It is the first of the Oberufer plays, which were collected by Karl Julius Schroer, one of Rudolf Steiner’s teachers. They were passed on by oral tradition from a community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube. These plays represent a unique survival of the medieval mystery play tradition and form a vibrant part of the life of many Steiner Waldorf schools. The performance is suitable for adults and children over 7. The ‘Speech and Drama Studio’, in association with Agnes Zehnter, ‘AmWort’, Dornach, will present the graduation performance of Matej Rybka. Matej has been working, since his Eurythmy Graduation in Stourbridge last year, towards obtaining a Goetheanum recognised Diploma in Creative Speech (Sprachgestaltung) with both Geoff and Agnes. He is happy to share his multi-language program with all interested.

All are very welcome to any part of the afternoon. Temple Lodge Christian Community, 51 Queen Caroline Street, London W6 9QL

No charge - donations at the door are gratefully accepted.
