Rudolf Steiner gave 11 lectures between 4th and 14th October 1911 in Karlsruhe, Germany. At this time a widespread controversy around ‘Historical Jesus’ had arisen and its most important protagonists and vigorous combatants were at the time in Karlsruhe. The public lecture of the 4th October 1911 outlines the widespread controversy and in the successive lectures Rudolf Steiner led the audience to a different and deeper understanding of Christ Jesus.
