Gardening – Approaching an Experience of Nature (Zoom)

Friday 23 June 7pm - 8.30pm

with Ken Power

We have many spiritual experiences but they are of such a subtle and delicate nature that we tend to miss them. Maybe the quiet space of a garden is a place where we can feel a warm sense of ‘home’ while we work with the soil, compost, seeds and plants. In the Philosophy of Freedom, Steiner says that what concerns him is not how science (or philosophy, or occultism) interprets consciousness but rather how consciousness experiences itself hour by hour. Ken will share with us his ‘hour by hour’ experience of gardening, exploring how this activity is capable of bringing harmony to the soul life, to thinking, to feeling and most certainly, to willing.

Ken Power taught in Waldorf Education for over 30 years, mainly in the upper school. He has been a gardener for 50 years and has been deeply connected to Anthroposophy for the same amount of time.
