Raphael and Rudolf Steiner: Raphael’s Life and Work
Friday 6 March 7.30pm - 8.45pm
with David Lowe
There can be no other artist that Rudolf Steiner has referred to so much in his lectures. The same can be said for other anthroposophical writers who often find Steiner’s remarks too challenging. Steiner presents a very different view of Raphael than that of most art historians, especially when it comes to two of his major works the Disputa and the socalled ‘School of Athens’. Following his indications, we will survey Raphael’s life and work up to the great alteration in his life when he was in his late twenties. We will look too at the healing quality of Raphael’s work, based upon his understanding of the etheric forces working in the human being and also in the world.
All welcome, no need to book. Suggested donation £5 / £3
