Eurythmy, an expressive movement art, was created by Rudolf and Marie Steiner in the early 20^th century. The word eurythmy stems from Greek roots meaning beautiful or harmonious rhythm. A eurythmist moves the music itself, the inner dynamic, the emotional expressiveness. In an ensemble, the interplay of the instruments, the piece itself, is present before your eyes.

The Eurythmeum Stuttgart, founded by Marie Steiner in 1923, is known both as a eurythmy training centre and as a stage group.

Else Klink (1907 – 1994) was director of the Eurythmeum Stuttgart from 1935 until 1991. Her work contributed centrally to establishing Eurythmy as a performing art within the culture of Europe and internationally. In 1991, she handed over the direction of the Eurythmeum to a group of her co-workers and teachers. In 1992, the stage group was renamed in her honour as the Else Klink Ensemble with the aim to develop programmes which reflect the questions of the time.
