The complexity of our contemporary society and its worldview, which ignores reincarnation and karma, ensure that our paths in life are by no means easy to navigate. This talk, which will include examples given by Rudolf Steiner, will attempt to pinpoint some of the pitfalls which we, as modern citizens, find strewn across our pathways – and suggest means by which they may be overcome. Steiner himself encountered difficulties in presenting his spiritual intuitions on thissubject to the society of his time. This will be explored with reference to the problems we, ourselves, face in relating to a society preoccupied with consumerist ideas.
